Party Bag Fillers For Children’s Birthday Parties.
Coming up with new ideas for goodies for party bag fillers every year is a challenge! Of course, you could do away with party bags altogether, but many kids still love (and expect) them and as for me; I really enjoy creating and gifting them! An easy option is to provide something edible and I have lots of ideas in my blog on Edible Party Bag Fillers, but what else can you include that the kids will love, the parents won’t hate and won’t cost a fortune…?
You could consider doing some kind of craft activity for the party entertainment (see my blog on Craft Activities for Children’s Parties), then the craft item that the kids make can double up as the gift to take home with them, rather than having to create additional party bags.
To add a little extra fun, the party bag fillers could be in a big lucky dip tub, so the children get to randomly pick a gift each. Or you could make a game of it by playing something like animal bingo and when the children get a full line/house, they can go up and choose a gift. You could also do ‘adopt an animal’ and have a box of small cuddly toys which the children can choose from on their way out and you could even print and sign some animal adoption certificates for the children.

Playdough
Play dough is a pretty safe option for both boys and girls. You can buy multipacks from The Entertainer and Pound Toy.

Great for little explorers.
Magnifying glass
A fab gift for all our little adventurers.
Re-useable water bottles
A great eco-friendly option that the kids will use again and again and their parents will love. You can find a good selection at most major supermarkets and also at Primark.
Cookie cutters
Cookie cutters are versatile, for baking or modelling dough and you can find a great selection at Just Cutters.
Kites
You could always throw a kite flying party and then the kite also doubles up as the party gift.
Bubble wands
Bubbles never seem to go out of fashion. You can pick up bubble wands are The Works and at most major supermarkets.
Bucket and spade
Whether it’s for the beach or the sandpit at your local park, kids never get bored of building (and knocking down!) sandcastles. You can find bucket and spade sets at The Works.
Frisbee
I love a party bag toy that gets the kids outside. Decathlon have a great selection of frisbees.
Bug collecting pot
For curious and adventurous kids.
Adopt an animal
A box of small cuddly animals and each child gets to choose one to adopt and take home.
French skipping elastics
I spent hours as a kid playing French elastics. You can buy elastic kids skipping bands from Decathlon.
Torch
Every child. Needs a torch in their tool kit.
Whoopee cushion
Kids love a whoopee cushion, it just never gets old! Check out Pound Toy for your whoopee cushion needs.
Finger paints
Spreading creativity with some finger paints, which you can find at The Entertainer and The Works.
Hula hoop
Possibly a little bulky for most party bags, but lots of fun. You can find a good selection of different sized hula hoops at Decathlon.
Bird whistle
Great for the budding little bird twitchers.
Bath crayons
My daughter loves her bath crayons; you can spend quite a lot on them, but The Works do a more budget friendly set.
Hairbands
So many place sell fun hairbands these days, however, for something a little bit ‘extra’, head on over to Claire’s.
Bracelets
You can’t go wrong with a bracelet for a girlie party. It’s also really easy to make your own or you can pick up some great multipacks at Claire’s.
Hair clips
Another girlie option is hair clips and the nice thing about these, is that they can be themed to match the theme of your party. There are some fun options on Etsy and Not on The High Street, or more budget friendly multipacks from Claire’s.
Mug painting kit
Craft kits are great, as the kids will love doing them and the parents will love anything that keeps them buy and out of trouble. The Works does some well priced mug painting kits.
Whistles
Great for a football themed party.
If you wanted something a little different and personalised, you could have a caricature artist at the party so all the kids can take their own caricature home as their party favour.
