Sweet Treats Make Great Party Bag Fillers.
I’m sure many of you are racking your brains every year when the birthdays come around, trying to think of some goodies for the party bags. A fail safe option are edible party bag fillers; kids will love it and the parents will be thrilled not to have any more plastic clutter in the house! If you do decide on a edible party bag filler, please bare in mind any children that may have allergies.
Of course there is the usual slice of cake and some sweets, but you could also try something handmade, or gift a pot of ingredients for the children to make something themselves, which is also a little more friendly to the environment than plastic wrapped sweets.
Homemade
If you are into baking, then homemade cookies, brownies and fudge will go down a treat.
Sweets
Prepacked selections of sweets in a pretty paper bag or cone; check out Little Lulubel and The Little Things or for a more eco option you could try Little Otter Party Supplies.
Mug Cake
A mug filled with the (dry) ingredients and instructions to make a mug cake at home. You could make these yourself or you can buy them readymade and ready to bake on Not on The High Street and Etsy.
Cookies or Cupcake Ingredients
Mini baking kits are another great alternative to the usual party bag fillers. The kids get given a bag/box filled with everything they will need to make cookies, cakes or brownies at home. Katie Bakes, Craft and Crumb and Zac and Lily both do some lovely options.
Hot Chocolate Stirrers
You can buy these on Etsy or sometimes some of the supermarkets sell kits to make them. Alternatively, you can find recipes to make them yourself on websites such as The BBC good food and The North East Family.
For December Parties
If you are throwing a party in December, you could consider gifting a chocolate advent calendar, chocolate coins or chocolate tree decorations.
For Parties Near Easter
If your child’s birthday is near Easter, you could always gift an Easter egg to each child, you can get some great ones for just £1 at most of the major super.
