Birthday Gift Ideas for Children That Love Nature and the Outdoors.
If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the hunt for toys and activities to get your children playing out in the fresh air. Here are some great ideas for birthday presents for nature lovers to get your children interested in nature and making the most of the great outdoors.
Nature Books
There are lots of beautiful nature books such as these bird books, or you could gift books with ideas and activities to do in nature, such as; ‘A year of nature craft and play’, ‘52 things to make’ and ‘Grow Forage and Make’. Here are some more books on Nature.
Scavenger Hunt

A flower press: you could go for a traditional flower press, or for those of us that don’t want to wait for weeks on end, you can get a flower press that you use in a microwave for instant pressed flowers.

Adventure Back Pack
A back pack full of nature finding items is great for children that love to explore the outdoors. Items you may like to include: Torch, whistle, a pair of kid’s binoculars, scavenger hunt sheet, magnifying glass, paper and wax crayons for bark and leaf rubbings, bug hunting pot, Nature journal with pen/pencil, bird/bug/wildlife/plant identification book, geocaching treasure to swap, a Compass, little bags for collecting rocks/treasures, carabiner, measuring tape, stop watch, snack pot/reusable pouch, water bottle, local map, clipboard and pen.
You could use many of these ideas to make up a ‘spy’ pack too. Perhaps add a set of walkie-talkies and a head torch.
